Am I being scammed by this costumer?

I am a pet care service provider and am having an interesting time trying to figure out if this particular man is trying to scam me. His e-mail is as follows but I have kept his ID anonymous. Keep in mind that I live in Ilinois and I find it rather odd he is willing to send his dog all the way from Florida just for boarding. I am very weary about this one especially since he asks for my address. Comments?

Fraud.

The check will be a good fake.

The bank will cash it and you will get cash from the bank.

Then the guy will regret to inform you that his plans have changed and will politely ask you to wire the money back to him less a nominal fee of $50 or so for your troubles.

Then you get a call from the bank and they have finally figured out the check is fake and want their money back.

The mystery guy will be long gone - he is probably not in the US now anyway. However the bank can find you and will not understand your side of the story.

Your best hope is that if you pay the bank back quickly and painlessly that they decide not to prosecute you.

This scam comes in many many forms. And people fall for it all too often.Am I being scammed by this costumer?
The "check" will be fraud. The circumstances of his request are not legitimate. My friend who owns a kennel gets these emails all the time in one form or another. You're best off not responding and deleting the message.
