I have a question about a messaage I got from someone that wants to buy one of my items off Craigslist.com?

This is what he said when i verified the availability of the item:::

"Good i love that this is available

Thanks for your quick response to my request,it is my pleasure to hear that the item is still available..So as i have told you earlier i am gonna pay you by company's check.Below are the details i need to mail you the check:

Your full Names:

Address:

City/state/zip code:

Phone number:

Please i want to put my trust in you by sending you an over payment of 1900$,which you will deduct your item price $190..Then you will forward the remaining balance to the company's Store manager as the weekly due payment for other purchases..So,you don't need to mind about the shipping..Once he received the balance he will arrange the shipping personally..

So, i will forward the store manager address to you once the payment is sent...

Thanks for your understanding.."

CAN ANYONE GIVE ME A HINT TO WHAT HE IS TRYING TO SAY? I HAVE NO EXPERIENCE WITH THIS STUFF!I have a question about a messaage I got from someone that wants to buy one of my items off Craigslist.com?
What's he's saying is that he wants to send you a check for $1900 to pay for the $190 item you're selling. He then wants you to forward the difference to the "Store Manager".

You'll find the check is either a counterfeit or a forgery. You'll lose $1710 if you do this with no way to get your money back. You'll never hear from them again.

Do not give the information he's asking for. As the others say, don't even respond to this message. This is indeed one of the more common scam on Craigslist. You have everything to lose and nothing to gain.

Sell your item to a local person in a cash deal. Do not ship unless you get cash in advance. No checks, no moneygrams, no money orders.
He is definitely trying to scam you. Do not listen to anything he says. Any messages you get like this in the future are scams as well.I have a question about a messaage I got from someone that wants to buy one of my items off Craigslist.com?

They are trying to pull a scam on you.

Any questions?
The person you are dealing with is trying to scam you. You need to not do any business with him, stop all communication with him, and immediately report him to Craigslist. Giving him your full name, address, city, state, zip code, and phone number is enough for him to steal your identity, however since you are under age (under 18 years old), then he won't get much even if he tries to, however he may try to damage your reputation.

These people make these "deals" with you that sound like they are good deals, and they are intriguing because they sound like a quick and easy way to make money. What they do is they use your information to send you a check, usually for a lot more than the purchase price of the so called item (they don't even expect to receive the item), they then want you to cash the check, and most banks won't put a hold on the money (because they know to write the checks low enough so that there is no hold, you will spend the money, then they will find out that the check is no good, and you will accumulate all sorts of fees, etc.

Do NOT and I repeat DO NOT do business with this person. What he is doing is illegal, and if you get involved with it, you will be considered an accessory to his crime.

By the way, there is a reason you should be 18 years old to do business on Craigslist, you do not have enough knowledge to know when you are being scammed, nor are you legally old enough to enter into a binding contract with anyone.

By the way, since you already gave out your contact information, if you receive a check in the mail from this person, do not under any circumstances cash the check!
