Is this a scammer? What do you think?

I sent out resumes through Craigslist last week. I got one response for a computer tech position. He gave me a description about the job and their website that his company is associate to. The website looks like its part of a big company. Now he wants me to fix 7 computers and ship it back to him. What do you guys think? He asked for my address and name so he can ship the computers to my house. Is he legit? the website looks legit so im thinking this is a real job. WHAT DO U THINK???

the systems malfunctioned and results into crashing, first we made enquiries about how they all

(1.) Format Hard Drive



(2.) Install Win Xp or Vista with Service Pack 2 or 3



(3.) Microsoft Office Package



(4.) Recent Anti Virus Software with (Free Lifetime Updates)



(5.) Adobe Acrobat



(6.) Diagnostics of the entire system after to check hard drive, CD %26amp; DVD ROM, floppy Disk.









Get back to me with your total cost for the services of 7 units ( Labour Only). We would Include all the



necessary software's and licenses (Original) needed for the service installations and would be paying you



with a Certified Company Check, and I want you to know that the Laptops will all be shipped to your



location by our shipping agents, we will give you a totality of one week to finish up with the repairs after



which it will also be picked up by the shippers. This is a Contract Job which might lead to a full time



position with the company after you have successfully completed the first task within the specified time.

S-C-A-M.....This is a re-shipping scam...they ship you stolen computers...you fix them and send them to a diffrent address and they pay you for fixing and sending them.....alot of people have gotten into serious trouble for taking part in this scam...it was on the NBC nightly news...........

Get a ref from the BBB. It seems like a scam
It's definitely a reshipping scam - they sent my brother the same thing. As the post above says, they buy used computers on Ebay/Craigslist with hacked paypal accounts or counterfeit checks/money orders, send them to you to "repair" then ask you to reship to another person. You are being used to fence stolen merchandise and YOU are the one who will be arrested when the police find out the computers were sent to YOUR home. You are looking at 5-10 years in prison if you agree to this because you will get caught



Oh, and you will never get paid for fixing the computers anyway. You'll do your "job" then not get paid. When you finally contact Actionaid to ask where your money is, they tell you that there is no such person working there, they would never ask a stranger to fix computers as they have their own IT department, and that you have been scammed



There is NO remote area of Tokyo with no phone service - he is full of crap. You can be on the top of Mt Fuji and still get perfect phone signals



I'm sure if you call the real Actionaid on the number on their website they will confirm that a scammer is falsely using their name
