Does this sound legit or like a scam?

Here's the details, I saw a post on Craigs list, and I sent an e-mail to do it, it was for a modeling / acting thing.. Here's the response I got (Which sounds a little off.. )

The shot will be held as soon as we both agree on when it should be held and the pictures will be used for the promotion sales. The Store will be responsible for the provision for your clothings,make-up and hairstyle that will be use for the shoot.

The location of the shoot, will be somewhere close to where you are located to avoid any traveling inconveniences on your part.As soon as we both agree, the photographer will get in touch with you to agree on the location, date and time of the shoots and he will becoming over to meet you up so that the shooting can be done in good time.

Let me know if you're ok with $400(your salary) for a day for your service and fund will be sent to you immediately on confirmation of your payment information as clearly outlined below this e-mail. After payment has been received, the photo shoot will be taken and sent to the store.

There will be a pre-arranged photographer, hairstylist and a make up artist that will becoming over to you for the shoots.

They will be contacting you for proper arrangement of time and location after payments has been made.

Guess the arrangement is understood. In order for payment to be made to you, provide me with the following details,

Name in full.........

Residential address in full...........

City...........

State...........

Zip-code............

Phone number...(cell and home).....

Ok so I thought this was legit.. and as I was responding, well I hit send, and went to inbox and had another message. Now after reading this, I got thrown off a bit.. But had already sent my information...

Good News!!! I email to inform you that a Sponsor company has finally emerged for this project, The sponsor has great passion for fashion and they will be Launching their own model school soonest and that is why they have decided to sponsor this project.

I am putting to your notice that the payment has been made to cover both your charges(SALARY) for shooting and that of the supervisor and her crew coming over the left over of the funds will be used in the booking of the studio and also cost of transportation for the supervisor and his crew to get down to your location for shooting.

we have decided to USE THIS MEANS BECAUSE the supervisor travels around a lot for shoots and its hard for him to receive payment cause of his unstable location and that was why we have decided to add his fee to your payment so that you can send for him as soon as you have your own payment (PLEASE TAKE NOTE).

Pls We need you to confirm that You are still interested in the offer by replying to this email so we can proceed by sending you payment.

Thanks

Now unless it's normal, Grammar was off, punctuation was off.. I just don't know what to expect, and why would they pay me first? $400 a day for someone with little experience? Well anyway.. If I get a check, I know to cash it out at walmart, not in the bank so he doesn't get my information.. But if they end up calling, what are some things I should look out for? Does this seem legit?Does this sound legit or like a scam?
It's a Nigeria scam, don't touch it! http://www.newmodels.com/Nigeria.html

These scams are all over Craigslist, myspace, facebook, modelmayhem, onemodelplace, etc.

1 - NO company will ever hire a model online. If you did not go for an in-person go-see and fitting, the job does not exist. Remember that one simple rule to avoid most scams. Even top models like Kate Moss still go to castings. If you've never worked for this company before, there is no way to know until they've actualy seen you that you have not lied about your height, age, measurements, etc. They have no idea if your skin is broken out this week from a picture. No way to know if you gained 5lbs in the past week because you've been out every night. No way to know your picture hasn't been completley photoshopped and looks nothing like you. No way to know you would fit into the sample clothing

2 - Models NEVER ar paid in advance of any shoot or there is no guarantee they would ever show up. You are always paid 30-60 days AFTER the shoot

3 - NO shoot for a clothing company would ever advertise on Craigslist

4 - the date, time and location of the shoot are always decided in advance, not around the model's schedule

5 - NO company would send a model money to pay for studio booking, transportation or anything else.

6 - NO real company is going to use poor grammar

DO NOT give them your home address or phone number for any reason. If you have, when the check arrives, save the original envelope and contact your closest FBI Field Office and turn it over to them. They are the agency responsible for investigating internet crimes. Keep copies of every email you've received and do not respond any further. If they call, DO NOT speak to them, hang up the phone or don't answer calls from unknown or foreign phone numbers. Print out the emails with full headers so they can hopefully track these criminals, and if the IP address shows they are from a foreign country (usually Nigeria or Russia) they will work with local law enforcement in those countries to try and track these scammers. http://www.fbi.gov/contact/fo/fo.htm
Wake up. $400 a day in 2010. it's fakeDoes this sound legit or like a scam?
Actually.... the $400 a day is not what it is that is fishy. No this is not legit at all. These are scams that occur too often on craigslist. He will basically send you a fake cashiers check that you will be able to cash but will more than likely bounce later. I did hear of a lady that was sent a cashiers check through craigslist and it didn't bounce (had something to do with the fact that she cashed it at a check cashing place). Her check was for like $1400 or something so she ended up coming out that much richer I guess lol. But the scammers want you to cash it at your bank so that yes.... they want to get your banking info. This is sometimes used to either hack into your bank account or for things such as stealing identities. I would just leave it alone if I were you and when you get whatever he has to send you; if you just wanna stay completely on the safe side; just put retur to sender on the envelope and put it right back in the mailbox. Good luck!Does this sound legit or like a scam?
Go with your gut... If it sounds off then it probably is.

If they sound vague (which they are then it's fake)

Many people are constantly scammed by these types of e-mail.

Ask for some references next time. Craigslist isn't reliable at the best of times.
you need to be careful of anything on craigs list. sounds a little off. don't ever let any of these people know where you live or let them come to your house. you never get paid up front for anything. no

one needs more than your phone no. and e-mail and your name. your salary has nothing to do

with their costs for the shoot or their supervisor and crew. this whole thing sounds a little strange.
