Is this legit? What do you think?

I sent out resumes through Craigslist last week. I got one response for a computer tech position. He gave me a description about the job and their website that his company is associate to. The website looks like its part of a big company. Now he wants me to fix 7 computers and ship it back to him. What do you guys think? He asked for my address and name so he can ship the computers to my house. Is he legit? the website looks legit so im thinking this is a real job. WHAT DO U THINK???

(2.) Install Win Xp or Vista with Service Pack 2 or 3



(3.) Microsoft Office Package



(4.) Recent Anti Virus Software with (Free Lifetime Updates)

(6.) Diagnostics of the entire system after to check hard drive, CD %26amp; DVD ROM, floppy Disk.









Get back to me with your total cost for the services of 7 units ( Labour Only). We would Include all the



necessary software's and licenses (Original) needed for the service installations and would be paying you



with a Certified Company Check, and I want you to know that the Laptops will all be shipped to your



location by our shipping agents, we will give you a totality of one week to finish up with the repairs after



which it will also be picked up by the shippers. This is a Contract Job which might lead to a full time



position with the company after you have successfully completed the first task within the specified time.

Scam. The situation described makes no sense; any logic is provided by the person who wants to believe that the situation is true and they can personally benefit from it. Classic scam language and situation.



but you will either believe us or not. You can investigate further yourself. The first email refers to "Action Aid International" - have you checked this organization out? Do they exist? Is this what they do? Is there a "Walter Godwin" that works there?
That could be legit. I'd be worried about the lack of a phone number though.

My no.1 warning would be. If they send a check, and say it's for more than you wanted, and are asking for the difference back ... That is very well known scam. They send a fake check. Plus you're out the money you send them. Not to mention you get in legal trouble for processing a fake check.

Just something to look out for. Also ... if they ask for a bank account number, saying they will electronically transfer it. No Way Do That.

Edit: someone professional wouldn't say technical nerds in their email. Also google "ActionAid Scam"... you'll find they don't offer jobs in this manner. Total ScamIs this legit? What do you think?
first of all, he did not address you by your name, he only mentioned hello and then he sent his message. this is one way to spot a scam.

A big multinational corporation bought computers with a floppy drive? Come on. Floppy drives haven't been standard on computers in at LEAST 5-7 years, and most certainly not on a laptop.
