A question about my BAH...?

I asked a similar question, but I forgot to add in the my husband is Army National Guard- therefor we have no duty station. So, BAH is done by zip code of where the residency is. Anyway, my apartment was broken into last saturday. I was able to break my lease, and how now found an apartment closer to my family and in a safer area. The city that our apartment will now be in is a more upper scale, and my friend who lives there gets about 200 more in BAH. Is there anyway we can change our location of our BAH? As our rent went from about 700 to 875 and the extra money would be helpful... Does it matter that it was broken due to a break-in? Any help would be appreciated :) Thanks!A question about my BAH...?
Being a deployed reservist, in Iraq. You are entitled to BAH, which is based on your zip code. It has nothing to do on where you are deployed from. For example, I was required to enter active duty in Texas, but my BAH is based on the zip code of my HOR.

This is a big difference when dealing with BAH for guard and reservist. As for changing the BAH location, that is going to be very difficult. They often times do not allow changing the location that the BAH is based on, since people use this as a way to scam the Army out of extra money.

My recommendation is to have him go to the Finance office in Iraq and submit a Pay Inquiry, so that you will have your answer in black and white.
HE needs to update the new address for HIS BAH, if it will change or not, hard to tell.... but HE will have to update for it to be recalculated, if needed for HIS BAH. That is the only way to get your answer, not here retracing and rephrasing.

Army National Guard, he does have a "home base" if not per say "duty station". Sorry he is Iraq, but he will still have to take care of it, and inquire about a rate change... personally I would not expect it... perhaps your friends spouse is a different rank, or has had more time in service. Reason for move irrelevant to the Army and BAH.A question about my BAH...?
While he is on active duty you rate BAH; if you have moved he nees to contact his admin section and put in a change of address form which should be provided to pay section and they will adjust the rate you receive. Since you are married to him the child or no child does not matter so don't understand why that would come up.A question about my BAH...?
Be thankful that you are geting BAH!
doesn't matter if he is Guard or not.. BAH is based on HIS DUTY STATION.. or in his case.. where he was activated from. PERIOD. as ANG he DOES have a Drill location.

it ENDS when he returns from deployment unless he is full time AGR.

no special consideration for why you chose to move..
You won't be able to change the BAH. It is based on the location of where your enter service. Any move is on your dime. If you moved in with parents or moved to a cheaper location, you would still receive the original BAH.

Children or no children has no relevance. A lot of the active duty don't understand how BAH works for deployed Reserve or Guard.
When my husband was activated as a USMC reservist we looked into moving in with my parents which would have increased our BAH and we were told that moving during the deployment would not allow us to change our zip code for BAH purposes.
It will be very rare for the the state to amend his mobilization orders for his BAH. All that matters is his home residencey zip code on his mobilization order. It is not likely the state will change it after the first few weeks of being activated, but you can receive extra BAH money if he has you down as a dependent and or he gets promoted.
