It seems suspicious because they added steps and things like information. I am guessing it might be. But hey, I'm 13, what do I know.
It does not sound like a scam, but I would ask your buyer for a cashier's check (as he states), money order or cash money.

If one is buying your item, they will need to know your full address to pick it up or to see it or to mail you the cashier's check. And give him your full name (he needs this if he is making a cashier's check). Your cell phone number would be good too in case he gets lost or is not able to make it.

If mailing it is the only option, you might want to charge for shipping too (depends how you feel about that) and mail it with "delivery confirmation" and insurance, but not til you receive his payment and cashier's check is legit.Craiglist: is this a scam?
Sounds like a scam.

Why?

The 'buyer' does not name what he wants to buy.

Otherwise, he would have started with "I`m interested in the x-box , is it still for sale"

The check is a known scam - either a fake one, or a too high amount, and then you are asked to keep your part, and send the rest via Western Union to someone.

Or, they ask you to ship the xbox to Nigeria or some african country.

If you want to follow up - contact your police, and explain to them.

This might be a way for them to catch a scammer in the act.

You can use their address on your reply.

Or, just reply - and state you only deal in person, and in cash.Craiglist: is this a scam?
Yes, I guarantee that this is a scam because it is a standard form letter response. It doesn't say anything about your item, it just speaks in generalities which is always what scammers do.

REPORT THIS BUYER!
yes. it sounds like a template response. meaning , it sounds generic. plus, with craigslist , your supposed to deal locally , meeting the people in person, so all that jazz about mailing a check is a scam.
Yes it is, no one legit writes messages like that, I've seen it so many times trust me. Ignore whoever it is.
Not so sure, don't ever give any away THAT much info. just to be on the safe side.
Typical SCAM

NEVER give your home address to anyone on Craigslist for any reason and ONLY accept cash. Any check they send will be fake. Always meet in a public location - not only are there plenty of scammers like this one, but thieves also target people on Craigslist knowing that if you have electronic goods for sale, you also probably have other expensive items in the house and will try to rob you. so NEVER give your home address ever and accept cash only

You can tgell it's a Nigerian scam because they say "Am satisfied" and "Am glad" instead of "I am satisfied"

They also NEVER mention what they are buying - they say "the item" because they send the same email out no matter what is being sold. I've received the EXACT same email no matter what I was trying to sell.Just delete it
