Thanks for your email and am so sorry for my late response,I got your application regarding the Warehouse Position posted on craiglist. I own a small shipping business and I tend to operate a high cost of operation and I want to cut down my expenses by employing shipping and receiving personnel in each state individuals who will be receiving mails in bulk and then dispatch them in units to there final destinations in there respective states, for example the cost of sending each mail is around $13 by United Parcel Service and if we want to send out 100 mails, that would be around $1,300 which is too costly but we have a solution whereby, we ship the whole 100 mails in one package at the rate of $180 to you in your state and when you get it, you will open it and send the mail individually through United States Postal Service which will be $3 to $4.50 each and by doing this would be saving a large amount of money, so please I need a reliable individual that will be committed and enthusiastic about the job and you will be paid $500 every week and this is a long time position.



You will be provided with funds to pay freight forwarder, you will be provided with funds to pay for USPS to dispatch the mails upfront, you will be provided with up to $3,400.00 to $4,000.00 as a running fund for dispatching the mails, sometimes, it may be packages of goods that you will be receiving and sometimes you may be required to pay for shipping and freight fees out of the funds we provide to you to pay another freight forwarder when we need the service of another freight forwarder, the items you will be re-mailing or shipping will include letters,office materials and office equipments, home theater, electronics and some other general consumer goods, I want to assure you that you will never use your own money for any expenses and you are not require to buy anything to begin the job,the job will only take around 10-15 hours of your time in a week and you can work whatever hours you want, the job is very simple once you have an address where you can accept mails and packages, and also have the time to re-mail the mails and packages through USPS sometime through some other freight forwarders, the mails and packages will contain gift cards, letters, office materials and equipments, home theater, electronics and some other general consumer goods, they are packages you can put in your room, or in your garage and if not we can rent a storage unit. You will have to present an ID either driver's license or any other personal ID to show to the delivery man when packages will be delivered to you and you have to show some sense of sincerity as you will be entrusted with clients mails, packages and funds to utilize for re-mailing expenses, please do let me know when you are ready to start and let me know if you have all the requirements needed for the job, you need to provide your information as well in order to proceed further.

There is no job. There is only a scammer trying to steal your hard-earned money and maybe your freedom.



The next email will be from another of the scammer's fake names and free email addresses pretending to be the "assistant" and will demand you accept packages purchased with stolen credit cards, hi-jacked paypal accounts and spoofed bank transfers, at YOUR home address. Then you are suppose to use a stolen UPS/FedEx billing account number to send the electronics, clothing and jewelry overseas. When the websites, credit card/paypal/bank account owners and UPS/FedEx discover the fraud, you get the real life job of paying back ALL of them. Then the local law enforcement comes knocking asking why are you fencing stolen merchandise for someone you never met, don't know their real life name and have no idea in what country they really live.



Now that you have responded to a scammer, you are on his 'potential sucker' list, he will try again to separate you from your cash. He will send you more emails from his other free email addresses using another of his fake names with all kinds of stories of being the perfect buyer, great jobs, lottery winnings, millions in the bank and desperate, lonely, sexy singles. He will sell your email address to all his scamming buddies who will also send you dozens of fake emails all with the exact same goal, you sending them your cash via Western Union or moneygram.



Whenever suspicious or just plain curious, google everything, website addresses, names used, companies mentioned, phone numbers given, all email addresses, even sentences from the emails as you might be unpleasantly surprised at what you find already posted online. You can also post/ask here and every scam-warner-anti-fraud-busting site you can find before taking a chance and losing money to a scammer.



6 "Rules to follow" to avoid most fake jobs:

1) Job asks you to use your personal bank account and/or open a new one.

2) Job asks you to print/mail/cash a check or money order.

3) Job asks you to use Western Union or moneygram in any capacity.

4) Job asks you to accept packages and re-ship them on to anyone.

5) Job asks you to pay visas, travel fees via Western Union or moneygram.

6) Job asks you to sign up for a credit reporting or identity verification site.



Avoiding all jobs that mention any of the above listed 'red flags' and you will miss nearly all fake jobs. Only scammers ask you to do any of the above. No. Exceptions. Ever. For any reason. If you google "fake re-shipping job", "fraud money mule scam", or something similar you will find hundreds of posts from victims and near victims of this type of scam.

It's poorly worded.



It is either a variation of the fake check scam or the forwarding merchandise purchased with stolen credit card numbers scam.Warehouse job scam or what?
This is called a reshipping scam and can land you in prison. These are criminals using naive people to fence stolen goods

What they do is buy items online with hacked credit card and paypal accounts and counterfeit checks, have them sent to you, then you forward to another person. Then when the real account holder reports the theft, the investigation shows the items were shipped to you, and the police show up at your door and arrest you for receiving stolen property

A friend's credit card number was stolen and over $3000 worth of electronics was bought with it. The police arrested the guy who received the goods, even though he claimed he was just doing his job and showed emails stating exactly what you wrote above. He didn't have the items - he had already sent them to his "employer" in Ukraine. But the jury did not believe anyone could be so naive not to know that they were doing something illegal or to even think of accepting packages from anyone they never met. And he's now serving 18 months in prison

Also - it's illegal for any employer to ask your sex, age or marital status so you know there is NO way this is a real employer.Warehouse job scam or what?

This one read up in a business text about the differences between a central and remote warehouses and borrowed the language (and changed it too) to justify his scam.



English is poor. "mails" is not a word.



No one gives a complete stranger this kind of money. The check you get will be fake and bounce. At that point your bank will demand you repay them the entire amount.



"we provide to you to pay another freight forwarder when we need the service of another freight forwarder"--oh, on top of fake money, they will ask you to send your REAL money to another "shipper" using Western Union (actually it will be ack to the scammer).



Keeps trying to tell you he's honest, sincere, legit, etc when he isn't.
It's a scam. Don't walk, but run from this as fast as possible. Don't respond, engage or communicate with this person. Every contact you have with them is another opportunity for them to gain further personal information from you.
