Looking for number of dog and cat owners by zip code or city. I have searched google but nothing comes even close. Any direction?Pet Owner Demographic?
It will be hard to get accurate numbers, especially for cats. You can try calling the city dog licensing office and see if they can tell you how many dog licenses have been issued.
Another thought, if you go to www.wordtracker.com (it's a paid service, but they offer a free trial) you can enter a search term such as dog sacramento ca (for instance) and it will tell you how many people search that term in a day. It will also give you other related terms and how many searches they had per day. You can use that information to get a very rough idea.
If you can be more specific, you'll get better information. So if you are selling dog collars, you could enter dog collars sacramento ca and see how many people are searching the internet for that daily. It will also tell you what sites are being returned for those searches so you can see what the competition is in that particular market.
