By mistake I gave her my home address, phone, and name. I didn't give any card info, or social security number. I got a message today from the scammer again and she said she'd be giving me a check in the mail, I'm not stupid to cash it now that I learned my lesson. This is the message she wrote today,

How are you dong today? Thanks for getting back to me promptly and also, i really appreciate your expediency. I have talked to members of my family regarding your position in the house and it all went well.

I am glad to inform you that your first week upfront payment has been mailed out via Fedex with the tracking number: 8758 6229 7811 to be delivered this morning. You can as well have it tracked via www.fedex.com/us to know the delivery status.

You will be receiving a check of $ 2720. out of which you will deduct your pay for the first week upfront payment and you will be using part of it to buy groceries and the rest to keep for us prior to our arrival, you will purchase these groceries on the day of our arrival for you to commence work the next day. Actually our flight will arrive at night so you will be getting the groceries in the morning and making all other preparations. I will also instruct my Realtor to mail the keys of the apartment we found to you including address as soon as the renovation work there has been completed so that you can do all other necessary preparations before we arrive.

Kindly have the check deposited in your account today as it takes 24 hours to be able to withdraw the funds. Do get back to me as soon as you complete the deposit so that you can be fed with more details of what next to be done because you have to get all this shopping before our arrival so that we wont have to start running around when we arrive.

I do appreciate you and hoping for a memorable event you will be showing my son as can't wait to have you around him.

Regards,

Shylla franklin.

I'm really scared and I already told my parents about it. I blocked the lady from emailing me and I don%26amp;#I fell for a babysitting scam, what can I do?
take a copy of the email and the the package you got right to the police.

just chillI fell for a babysitting scam, what can I do?
GO THE YOUR BANK, and even the police to report this fraud. Even if you haven't cashed a check, you will be helping others that will fall prey to her/his/them crap.I fell for a babysitting scam, what can I do?
IF you get a FedEx envelope--DO NOT OPEN IT!! Immediately take it to police, where you tell them everything told to us here. They can open the envelope---and retrieve the scammer's FINGERPRINTS, hoping they match to crooks w/ records in their NCIC database. This is how a friend of mine caught scammers trying to rob him via mail.

If no prints are found, then these scammers are pros---but there still may be ways law enforcement can track hunt them down.....before they rob other innocent people.
