Has anyone been scammed by a Steven Norris?

i had a car listed on craigslist and received an email from a guy interested in the car. he sent me a check for 2000.00 more than the amount asking. he said after the check clears to send the remainder of the money to the shipper.

Name : Steven Norris

Address : 632 dayton Dr

City : Detroit

State : Michigan

Zip Code : 48210

i tried mapquesting this address and there is no such place. i also called the company that the check was drawn up from and they clearly told me that it was a scam. the check even cleared into my bank account. the bank told me if i had spent any of the money and when the check finally bounced i would have to pay the bank back myself.

does anyone knows if there is anything i can do against this guy legally to stop him from scamming someone else.Has anyone been scammed by a Steven Norris?
Yes it is a scam I was drawn into the same thing except I lost $2100. Same name same everything. He coaxed me into to western unioning the money to a "shipper" and then his check bounced!!! I have been researching what to do and i was just googling steven norris and this popped up. I am somewhat relieved seeing you post!!!Has anyone been scammed by a Steven Norris?
I don't know what book this is from. But if it was me, I would be more worried about getting my car back than about this happening to anyone else.Has anyone been scammed by a Steven Norris?
